Strait Sessions

Took my boys up to Crescent Beach.

We paid for the beach access pass and the boys had a blast. Waves were coming in really nice and easy with zero rip. They both rode the long board all day long.

After the two days my boys told me they had "Surfer's Blood" now.

Highly recommend that beach for others who want to get their kids used to the waves.

So spot naming becomes innocent when it involves children?
The service here sucks.

Yer right, I gave away the biggest secret spot on the Straight Betty, sorry, I guess all the kayakers, SUP'ers and spongers will start going there now...oh wait, they have been going there for about 10 years. Start calling out everyone else who names Shorty's and PC if you are going to give me shite for dropping CB. Jeezus.

Sheezus.
I think we all yearn for the days of frontier where there were real secret spots. Those days are vastly diminished. If you have one, its most likey a sandbar that turns on at a certain time each year and lasts about 3 weeks, AND, is actually secret. Someone who talks about a spot that is USED by the masses is not naming spots. Once a spot is known it is known. Especially if your grandmother can drive up to it and surf it on her longboard. No offense Betty YOU ARE HOT for an old broad!
Is this not a surfing forum ? :D

Critter, that's BS, JB is dead on here. Spot naming is spot naming. You'd realize this if you lived at a popular easily accessible spot and half of the valley farts posted about their epic session even it was only half surf-able. This results in the other half of the valley farts showing up the next day to see what was missed. Have some respect for locals of every spot, keep your ego in check, and keep the spot name to yourself.

I wonder how many times this broken record is going to get played Holddown?

Should we even name the body of water or is that a problem too?

Different rules for different spots and even if there were rules for spot naming, not everyone follows them.

Oh yeah, and rule number one, dont forget to respect the locals everyone thanks for the reminder Holdown.

Nice research, you had to go back almost three years to find that. A couple of years before you even showed up here. Tell me your home break and I'll drop that name, too. Let me guess... Clackamas?

I surfed that place before they put the new bridge in place and made it an easy "get" for kooks.

Having lived at the "The Hook" more or less 1 minute and 20 seconds by bike with surfboard under my arm, Ooopsie I named a spot, I have seen and lived the phenomena of which you spleak. I found my mind was occupied with much more serious things than worrying about the crowds of inlanders. I often felt HELL, I have this everyday sometimes 2 or 3 times a day and those poor shits get it once or twice a month if they are lucky. I felt sorry for those folks knowing full well how important the ocean was to me. I found it easy to not worry about it....
