Can't decide, wanted to hear the perks of going either way.
North would take us as far as B.C Canada and South maybe as far San Diego or Mexico.

Head south, way south and skip SoCal. Shed the rubber, pack up your backpacks and board bags, and check out say El Salvador where you can bus it moslty everywhere and surf perfect point breaks. Prob do the same in Mainland Mex too. Wait till winter to go to BC, when you have to.

We shall go south then. I don't think we have the time or gas money to make it to Mexico. Optimistic estimate: (2400mi)*(4$/gal)(gal/(25mi))=$384gas money. Hey that's not that bad.

Get out of the automobile or at least yours.

Get on a plane, fly south, take buses and hitch hike to spots.

Post up or cruise, go feral and just forget about it all and experince the true adventure of dirt bag travel. No better or cheper way to do it.
